About Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County

The preparation of this website, as well as all agency documents, reports, and written materials was financed in part under a Contract with the State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, with funds provided in part by the State of New Hampshire and/or such other funding sources as were available or required, e.g., the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

In response to the federal Transparency in Coverage Rule, the below link leads to machine readable files that include negotiated service rates and out-of-network allowed amounts between health plans and healthcare providers. The files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to more easily access and analyze data.

Our Story

Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County (HCMOW) began operations in 1977; in our first year, we provided 149,338 meals and wellness checks, within 10 years the need for our services more than doubled, resulting in 277,382 meals and wellness checks served in 1987.

Today, we work with licensed kitchens that produce over 7,000 nutritious meals each week. Meals are delivered to our core nutrition site locations and community dining locations throughout Hillsborough County where they are served to older adults in community dining centers or delivered as Meals on Wheels to older, homebound and disabled adults.

We are dedicated to promoting better physical, mental, and social well-being of older and other qualified adults. Providing nutritious meals, health education, opportunities for social interaction, and other related services helps improve the lives of those we serve.

Volunteers Help Make it Happen

Volunteers are the heart and soul of Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County and almost half of our routes are covered by volunteer drivers every day. The volunteer with the friendly smile and hot meal is often the only person some of our homebound seniors will see during the day.
