Take Action and Speak Up For Seniors!

Senior hunger is a national issue.

Our nation’s senior population is growing exponentially, outpacing the resources available to serve vulnerable older adults and putting their health and well-being in jeopardy. Meals on Wheels is a proven public-private partnership that effectively addresses the challenges of aging by promoting health and improving quality of life for at-risk seniors. Please see fact sheet below for relevant statistics on older adults and visit the Meals on Wheels America Advocacy Page  for additional advocacy steps you can take to support Meals on Wheels! Please note that the 2022 NH fact sheet is not yet available.

Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act

Today, Americans are working more and longer than they ever have. When older workers lose their jobs, they are far more likely than other workers to join the ranks of the long-term unemployed. And unfortunately, discrimination appears to be a significant factor in older workers’ long-term unemployment. Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act (POWADA) ensures that older workers have the protections they need. POWADA was passed by Congress in June 2021, but has stalled in the Senate.  You can read more about POWADA and the  lawsuit that led to a setback for age discrimination cases here.
